Why Choose a Military School?
Many parents are taken by surprise when they finally discover that
their teen is at risk. They often find themselves in this situation
when both parents work outside the home; they lose touch with what
their teen is thinking, what they are doing, and who they are doing it
with. With parents tuned out of what is going on in their teen’s life,
the negative behavior will often accelerate. In many instances, it is
too late to curb the negative behaviors. Parents are forced to seek
help in the way of a boarding situation outside the home.
The troubled teen epidemic has many parents and school administrators alarmed. Today’s troubled teens are often blatantly disobedient, cynical, and sometimes even violent; parents are losing control. In some instances the parents are literally afraid of their child. If the teen is displaying three or more of the following problems, a military school setting may want to be considered:

♣ Has the teen given up activities or other previous interests
♣ Is the teen verbally abusive
♣ Is the teen violent
♣ Is the teen involved in illegal activities
♣ Has the teen dropped out or been expelled from school
The main reasons military schools are a popular alternative to other types of programs are structure and discipline, two major characteristics many at risk teens lack. For many parents, military schools are the answer for a teen that is defiant, abusing drugs, failing school, and out of control.
